On predicting his death, the Buddha said to his bereft followers: Be a light unto yourselves.
Be a ligth unto yourselves. Sometimes, quite often, she feels the heat and the glare from that light at the top of her head. She doesn't know quite what to make of it but it gives complete rest in the moment. Doing good or not doesn't get into it. She just stretches her back and carries the light, totally aware.
Be a light unto yourselves. Sometimes she does'nt have the physical sensation of the ligh. In such a moment she delves into books of the Dharma, Studying hard, in a sectarian way, wanting to know what is right. By the early afternoon she catches herself giggling. What did he teach, the Buddha?
Be a light unto yourselves! You, yourself, are the lamp to guide you.Youd should feel each part of the teaching in your gut and determine whether it's wholesome. You are the light.
(Efter två dagar utan puff förbarmade sig min älskade Susanne och gav mig utmaningen "tänd ett ljus")
